Marvin Williams og Ike Diogu semja aftur

The Atlanta Hawks and restricted free-agent forward Marvin Williams agreed in principle to a five-year contract worth about $40 million on Wednesday, sources told Yahoo! Sports. The deal isn’t expected to be signed until next week.

The New Orleans Hornets have signed forward Ike Diogu to a free agent contract, hoping he can provide solid backup minutes behind All-Star David West.

The Toronto Raptors have traded small forward Devean George for Golden State Warriors' guard Marco Belinelli, a league source confirmed Wednesday night.

Belinelli, a teammate with Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani on the Italian national squad, missed 25 games because of injury and was nearly dealt in a draft-night trade to Phoenix to acquire Amare Stoudemire.

Heat enn að reyna við Odom

As Lamar Odom continues to mull his future, still hopeful that an improved offer for the Los Angeles Lakers is forthcoming, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade is trying as hard as he can to convince Odom to end his free-agent wait.

Wade announced via his Twitter account late Sunday night that he has flown to Los Angeles to "bring Odom bac (sic)" to the Heat. That was Wade's follow-up to an earlier weekend tweet in which he implored Odom to "come back to where it started for the both of us."

Odom's options, as of Monday, were choosing between an offer from the Lakers that has been reduced from its high point two weeks ago or taking one of the multiple fallback proposals from the Heat that are thought to be sufficiently attractive to coax him to Miami.

If Odom does join the Heat, Riley is also expected to make a harder push to trade for Utah's Carlos Boozer -- to flank Wade with two top forwards in an attempt to convince Wade to commit his long-term future to the Heat...

Tim Thomas á leið til Dallas Mavericks

Free-agent forward Tim Thomas is scheduled to be in Dallas on Tuesday for a face-to-face meeting with Mavericks officials that will likely lead to a contract offer for the 12-year veteran.

No deal has been finalized, but the Mavericks have coveted Thomas as an off-the-bench shooter all summer to add some perimeter punch to their second unit.

Artest hatar ekki að djæfa um á brókinni

Á löngum lista yfir furðulega hluti sem Ron Artest hefur gert á sínum ferli hlýtur þetta að vera ansi nálægt toppinum:

Here's what happened: Artest missed the first two team buses (the ones for players, coaches and team personnel) from Houston's hotel to the Staples Center and barely made the third and final bus, which was reserved for business staff, sponsors and friends of the team. These stunned people watched Artest sprint to the bus right before it left, jump on and take one of the remaining seats ... yes, wearing only his underwear. Owner Leslie Alexander happened to be sitting on the bus and witnessed the whole thing. And you wonder why the Houston Rockets didn't make any effort whatsoever to bring back Artest.
