Knicks velja á milli Sessions og Iverson

Ramon Sessions could receive a contract offer from the Knicks as early as Friday, assuming they don’t have a change of heart and shift their point-guard focus to Allen Iverson. Mike D’Antoni is said to favor Sessions, a restricted free agent who enjoyed a breakout season for Milwaukee last year. However, Iverson could be a cheaper alternative because the perennial All-Star is willing to accept a one-year contract that would cost the Knicks their $5.85 million mid-level exception. Sessions, 23, is hoping to receive a multi-year contract starting with the mid-level exception. The Bucks would have seven days to match the offer. According to a team source, Knicks president Donnie Walsh and Iverson’s agent, Leon Rose, met two weeks ago to discuss the possibility of Iverson joining the Knicks.

Lamar Odom semur aftur við Lakers

Free agent forward Lamar Odom will return to the Los Angeles Lakers, an NBA source said Thursday.

One source close to the process told ESPN.com that Odom will come away with a guaranteed $27 million from the new contract, matching the original value of the three-year, $27 million deal Lakers owner Jerry Buss pulled off the table earlier this month. It’s believed that the structure of the new deal calls for Odom to earn $25 million over the first three seasons, with the Lakers owing him $2 million in the fourth year if they elect not to pick up their team option.

NBA leikmenn gráta líka

Hvað er eiginlega að gerast með þessa tvo?!  Man þegar þeir komu í deildina 1996.  Ótrúlega öflugir bakverðir báðir tveir og voru kannski báðir upp á sitt besta þegar þeir keyrðu í gegn sigur í All-Star leiknum 2001, eftir ótrúlegt come-back austursins.  Nú er öldin önnur og þeir báðir augljóslega að upplifa dapra tíma.  Ekkert lið vill snerta þá með löngu priki og við engan að sakast nema þá í því samhengi. 

Það hlæja eflaust margir að þessu en persónulega finnst mér þetta bara umfram allt sorglegt að sjá hvernig farið er fyrir þessum gaurum, hafandi alla þessa hæfileika og greinilega ekki að höndla það. 

Iverson varð emotional við það að flytja ræðu um styrkjaprógrammið sitt, en Marbury er algerlega í bullinu þessa dagana með vef-kameru-dagbókina sína á Twitter.

Cleveland Cavs uppáhald NBA deildarinnar

Dagskrá NBA deildarinnar næsta tímabilið hefur ekki verið gerð opinber enn en skv. heimildum þá munu Cleveland Cavaliers leika fyrsta leik tímabilsins gegn Boston Celtics og einnig á jóladag gegn Los Angeles Lakers, bæði prime-time sýningartímar.  Þessi þrjú lið virðast vera hin heilaga þrenning deildarinnar sem stendur.

The NBA schedule isn't expected to be officially released until early next month and things may yet change, but according to multiple sources the Cavs are set to be featured early and often. As of the current schedule that was obtained by The Plain Dealer, the team is set to kickoff the NBA season by hosting the Boston Celtics on Oct. 27 in a game probably set for TNT.

Then on Christmas Day, the Cavs appear to be slated to be the one of the marquee games for ABC as they will be in Los Angeles to play the Lakers. This is not unexpected as the Lakers-Cavs were a major draw even before the Cavs traded for Shaquille O'Neal. Shaq and former teammate Kobe Bryant have met on Christmas several times in the past when O'Neal was with the Miami Heat.

Beginning this season the NBA will let teams sell ads on their practice jerseys, says deputy commissioner Adam Silver, who adds the league is continuing to explore the issue of ads on game jerseys. ‘We are operating a diverse business all around the world,’ Silver says. ‘(The sponsored game jersey) is a well-established practice in other countries. Ultimately, I think our fans will come to accept it.’

Chris Paul buffar sig upp

Paul has begun most days this offseason with workouts aimed at improving his strength, and his new bulk was evident at his basketball camp. Last season, he often logged close to 40 minutes a game and was worn out by the playoffs, when New Orleans appeared punchless in a lopsided first-round loss to Denver.

Paul estimated that he is now between 10 and 15 pounds heavier than he was as a rookie in 2005-06.

"It's to make sure I'm durable for the season, for the amount of minutes I play," he said.
