The duel in DC -- unprecedented in sports history -- was sparked when Critten ton became enraged at the vet eran guard for refusing to make good on a gambling debt, a source said.

"I'm not your punk!" Crittenton shouted at Arenas, according to a league source close to the Wizards.

That prompted Arenas to draw on Crittenton, who then also grabbed for a gun, league security sources said.

"He [Arenas] was f- - -ing with him; he [Crittenton] was just defending himself!" declared Long, who said the dispute was over money but would not elaborate.

Enn ein New York ástarjátning frá LeBron James

 

Eins og President sagði hér í kommenti áður, þá eiga þessir eftir að rooookseljast í Cleveland-borg og hvað þá Ohio fylki.  Þetta hlýtur að hafa óþægileg áhrif á liðsmóralinn og markmið liðsins að vinna titil, með LeBron James dansandi á hliðarlínunni að hugsa um hvað það verður æðislegt að fara til New York næsta haust.  Að mínu mati stórkostleg vanvirðing við áhangendur Cavaliers og alla íbúa Cleveland borgar.  Ætla rétt að vona að þetta sé einungis marketing-klúður hjá Nike.

Eftir að hafa séð þetta dettur mér í hug annar vinkill á þessu máli.  Má vera að Nike séu að pressa á LeBron að semja við New York í sumar?  New York er miklum mun stærra markaðssvæði en Cleveland og verði LeBron leikmaður Knicks má búast við því að varningur með hans nafni seljist betur en hann gerir í dag.  Nike héldu körfuboltabúðir í New York í nafni LeBron í sumar, Nike hafa ítrekað hæpað upp tvo síðustu leiki Cavaliers gegn Knicks í Madison Sqare Garden og nú síðast þetta.

Ron Artest ræðir "óhappið" við blaðamenn

"I can't remember everything," Artest said at halftime of the Lakers' game Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors, his first comments since the accident. "It was for Christmas -- maybe it was the presents. I can't remember much in between. . . . My wife said I was asleep for like two or three minutes. Obviously I don't remember that part. I went to the hospital. It took me about an hour to get my senses back."

Artest said he still is a little "woozy at times, so it's definitely not safe to be playing."

He said he doesn't have any pain or headaches, but he is dizzy at times.

"I don't know how bad it could have been," Artest said. "I'm definitely grateful to be able to be up and talking and even having the possibility of being back pretty soon."

Miðað við þessar útskýringar var hann annað hvort pödduölvaður, jafnvel bólufreðinn eða það er eitthvað mikið að honum.  Menn detta ekkert bara út á meðan þeir eru á gangi heima hjá sér, nema ekki sé allt með felldu.

Knicks einnig að skoða T-Mac

The Knicks would love to package either Jared Jeffries or Eddy Curry to acquire McGrady, which would give the club additional cap space this summer to sign two free agents - perhaps LeBron James and Chris Bosh or Joe Johnson - to max contracts.

But the feeling around the league is that the Rockets could do better with Al Harrington, who also has an expiring contract. Including Danilo Gallinari in a package may interest Houston, but, according to a team source, the Knicks are not prepared to make that type of offer.

Ég ætla rétt að vona að þeir láti ekki Gallinari frá sér.  Held að það sé framtíð í þeim strák, en maður er viðbúinn öllu þegar kemur að New York Knicks.

Sources suggested the Bulls are open to acquiring McGrady, who is just 30 years old.

The 6-foot-8 swingman is the NBA's highest-paid player at $23.2 million, but his contract ends after the season. A trade with the Bulls would almost have to include the expiring contracts of Brad Miller and Jerome James.

The Bulls might also be interested in moving John Salmons to guarantee a larger amount of cap space next summer. He's owed $6.5 million next season but has an option to terminate the deal and become a free agent.

Without Salmons on the payroll, the Bulls could have more than $20 million to spend on the 2010 free-agent class.
