Air Jordan var nýlega gripinn eftir celeb-golfmót og spurður um hvað honum finndist um umræðuna í kringum LeBron James og að hann hugsanlega semji við New York Knicks næsta sumar.

"He's made his mark in Cleveland. I know New York fans would love to have him, but you need a lot more components than just one player. He's done a heck of a job in Cleveland and they deserve to have him there. He's from that area.

"You're asking me to talk about the Knicks and I own the Bobcats. I want to beat you guys every day."

Ég verð að taka undir með honum og segja að Knicks liðið er frábær staður fyrir hann til að baða sig í sviðsljósinu utan vallar, en á vellinum væri hann kominn aftur á byrjunarreit.  Knicks-liðið og reyndar allur klúbburinn er í tómu tjóni og þarf að taka mikið til þar til að hann nái sömu hæðum og þegar Pat Riley og Jeff Van Gundy voru að þjálfa.  Ég er ekki að segja að það sé ómögulegt fyrir hann að vinna titil þar en það mun vissulega taka mun lengri tíma og miklu meiri vinnu.

Jordan var einnig spurður um afrek LeBron James og Kobe Bryant í Madison Square Garden í vetur þar sem Bryant sló stigametið í húsinu með 61 stigi og LeBron skoraði 52 og var einu frákasti frá þrefaldri tvennu, þar sem áhorfendur kölluðu "MVP!" hvað eftir annað.  MJ sagði að þetta tvennt væri ekki sambærilegt við það þegar hann skoraði sjálfur 55 stig í MSG árið 1995 - Knicks liðið spilar einfaldlega enga vörn í dag.

"It had a lot to do with what they were seeing. New York fans are very respectful for the game," Jordan said. "They recognize talent, but ... back when I played, anytime I'd go in the paint I'd have scratches and the possibility of some stitches. I'm not criticizing the game, but in essence it's not the same Knick team that it was when I played. They recognized good basketball. They're very respectful of the game, but I don't think you can compare the two."

Það má vera að ég sé ekki hlutlaus í þessari umræðu en ég verð enn og aftur að vera sammála hér.  '95 lið New York Knicks var langbesta varnarlið deildarinnar það árið sem fékk á sig aðeins 103,8 stig að meðaltali í 100 sóknum (sem þýðir að miðað við aðeins 2 stiga körfur náði vörnin að stöðva eða hindra stigaskor í næstum annarri hverri sókn, hlutfallið hækkar ef 3 stiga körfur eru teknar í jöfnuna).  Liðið sem tapaði naumlega fyrir Houston Rockets í úrslitum árið áður í 7 leikjum.  Að hengja 55 kvikindi á kalla eins og Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, Derek Harper, Anthony Mason, John Starks og Doc Rivers held ég að verði að teljast meira afrek en 61 eða 52 á rústirnar sem Knicks liðið er í dag.

Brandon Jennings: "Ricky Rubio is all hype"

Brandon Jennings sagði í viðtali nýlega við Sacramento Bee að spænska undrið Ricky Rubio væri ekkert annað en hype.  Það er ekki einu sinni búið að drafta þá og stríðið er strax byrjað.

Q: How did he (Rubio) do and how would he do to compare to the other guys in college now?

A: "Well when I was playing he only zero assists and two turnovers, you know you tell me how that was."

Q: How many minutes was he (Rubio) playing?

A: "We had about even minutes, I had 12 points, about six assists, that was the most I ever played was 30 minutes. I was a little winded but I still think I got the best of him."

Q: How would he compare to the college freshman for example?

A: "Well put it like this, if he was in a workout with me, Jonny Flynn, Drew Holiday, (Ty) Lawson, and Stephen Curry he wouldn't even be at the top."

Q: Do you think he's all hype?

A: "Yeah because he played in the Olympics, been playing pro ball since 14, you know there it is right there. His stats you know 26 minutes, having 16 points, seven assists, nine steals in 26 minutes, and you have all that? You know, I really don't know, I can't wait to play him though."

Q: Is it safe to say you think should go before Ricky Rubio in the draft?

A: "Yeah, I think I'm a better player think he is, I can shoot the ball better than he can, you know the only time I have seen him do something is when he has a homerun pass or something like that. I think the dude is just all hype. I can't even front you know, I'm just going to be real with you guys."

“Yes, I regret it now [not fouling]. … That play will haunt me forever.”

As the rumor mill churns, the Griz have been approached by several teams about acquiring the second overall pick. Boston, Houston and New York are said to be among the most recent suitors.

Boston and Houston would likely have to offer an established NBA player or two, given that neither team owns a first-round pick. New York owns the eighth pick and likely would want to move up for the opportunity to take Rubio.
