Brandon Jennings um að vera valinn til Bucks

Brandon Jennings var valinn nr. 10 af Milwaukee Bucks og í viðtali nýlega virtist hann vera að telja sjálfum sér trú um að það væri ekki svo slæmur staður.

“What I first got to Milwaukee, all I heard was bad stuff . . .  that Milwaukee was really boring, terrible,” said Jennings by telephone from New York. “But I think I really got to see the town a little bit when I came there for the workouts and Milwaukee is not a bad town. It’s kind of laid back . . .  a lot of fishing and a lot of boats and a lot of water, things like that. And now I can go to a Green Bay Packer game. I can’t wait for that.”

Rubio massaspenntur fyrir Minnesota... NOT!

RRMinnesota Timberwolves áttu sex valrétti í nýafstöðnu nýliðavali NBA deildarinnar.  Með fjórum af þessum sex valréttum völdu þeir leikstjórnendur (PG) sem verður að teljast einkennileg hagfræði.

Völdu Ricky Rubio nr. 5 og Jonny Flynn nr. 6 og þykir nánast öruggt að alla vega annar þeirra verði treidaður frá félaginu.  Aðspurður eftir valið hvort hann væri spenntur fyrir því að spila með Minnesota svaraði strákurinn:

I'm excited to come to the NBA.

As in "Heeeeell no I'm not playing in Minny!"  Hann var einnig spurður að því hvort hann myndi hætta við og fara aftur til Evrópu.

I don't know yet. I have to think about that ... I'm going to talk to my agent about that and we're going to see.

Minnesota völdu svo Ty Lawson nr. 18 og sendu hann til Denver fyrir valrétt í fyrstu umferð nýliðavalsins á næsta ári (einkennileg hagfræði enn og aftur þar sem ekki er við því búist að sá valréttur verði ofarlega miðað við árangur Denver í fyrra).  Sterkur leikur hjá Denver þar sem Ty Lawson er frábær bakvörður og mun vera gott bakköpp fyrir Chauncey Billups, sem virtist vera orðinn þreyttur í lokin gegn Lakers.

Amaré Stoudamire á leið til Golden State

With its first-round pick, Phoenix selected 6-foot-10 Louisville forward Earl Clark, but the bigger news was that sources said the Suns expect to complete a trade with Golden State that would send Amaré Stoudemire to the Warriors next week for Davidson point guard and No. 7 pick Stephen Curry, center Andris Biedrins, power forward Brandan Wright and shooting guard Marco Belinelli.

If Curry is not included, the deal will not be made.

Damn... einn magnaðasti tónlistarmaður allra tíma látinn eftir hjartaáfall.  Getur einhver beðið núna eftir plötunni sem hann ætlaði að fara að gefa út?  Saaaæll!

Cavs eru ekki hættir að versla

The Cavs are not done. They still are going to be looking for a wing defender (or two) and I think also a stretch power forward, aka a player who can go out to the 3-point line. This is why I believe they will still consider signing Rasheed Wallace with their mid-level exception. You need to surround Shaq with shooters and stretch the floor, just like you do with LeBron. Look how effective a player like Robert Horry was with the Lakers when Shaq was there. When the Heat won their title Antonie Walker played about the same role as the stretch four. So in addition to the formula to pair Shaq with a great wing scorer (Kobe, DWade) also you need the other big to be able to stretch the floor. Not to mention it would help the Cavs in matchups with the Lakers and Magic as well.

Dwight Howard um Shaq til Cleveland

"Looks like Cleveland just traded for big Shaq in order to try and stop me next season," wrote Howard. "It’s good to see that the Magic are on the minds of some other teams now instead of it being the other way around. Maybe now after getting to the Finals the little ol’ Magic won’t be overlooked as much anymore.

"Those kinds of trades like the one Cleveland made just lets us know that we have to be better next season. Those teams are gunning for us and trying to get better, so we’ve got to do the same thing."

Ainge sendir Rondo kveðjur

Ef einhver efast um að Boston séu að reyna að treida Rajon Rondo þarf viðkomandi að lesa þetta:

Ainge said Rondo needed to take more of a leadership role and revealed the 23-year-old was fined for showing up late to a playoff game. “We expect him to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

“As we saw in the Orlando series, they left him wide open,” Ainge said. “His presence hurt us in winning right now because his man went and doubled onto Ray [Allen] and Paul [Pierce] and made it difficult for us.” Ainge said Rondo wasn’t “that disruptive of a player,” but that he still hasn’t fully matured.

“He’s got to grow up in some cases, and I think he is, too,” Ainge said. “Slowly but surely Rondo is maturing. He’s getting a little bit more control over his emotions and he’s responding in a more positive way as he gets older and more mature in the league. We certainly would not trade him because of those things. We really need him as our point guard to be a leader than someone who thinks more of himself at times.”
