In a move that could rock the athletic shoe industry, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is said to be on the cusp of switching Nike brands from Converse to the Jordan brand, CNBC has learned.

Although it's under the same corporate umbrella, it would be the biggest change in shoe deals since Kobe Bryant switched from adidas to Nike in six years ago. The move would be seen as shocking since it could all but kill any momentum for the Converse brand, which Nike bought for $305 million in 2003.

Orlando jafnaði tilboð Dallas Mavericks í Marcin Gortat og verður hann því að spila fyrir Magic næstu fimm árin að öllu óbreyttu, fyrir heilar $34 milljónir.  Það fyndna er að Gortat er drullupirraður yfir þessu:

Gortat has said all along that no matter what happened this off-season -- whether he went to Dallas or returned to Orlando -- that he would be a "happy man."

Still, he did have his heart set on going to the Mavericks because the Mavericks were going to give him the chance to start at center. So, it's no surprise that his agent, Guy Zucker, told the Orlando Sentinel that Gortat is "very disappointed" that the Magic have matched the offer sheet.

Iverson til Clippers?

It's been a pretty quiet offseason for free-agent guard Allen Iverson, but he's apparently drawing interest from a new team -- the Los Angeles Clippers.

Talks between the Clippers and Iverson are "very serious," according to the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper also reported that as recently as last week, the team's interest in him was considered more of a long shot, and that the team was waiting to see what would happen with its trade that sent Zach Randolph to Memphis. That deal is scheduled to be completed Friday.

Iverson í sigtinu hjá þremur liðum

LAS VEGAS -- Memphis Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley thinks that the Miami Heat are "the odds-on favorite" to sign free-agent guard Allen Iverson but hasn't abandoned hope of acquiring the four-time scoring champion.

"I think he's got three teams he's talking to," Heisley said, referring to the Grizzlies, Heat and the Charlotte Bobcats, who are widely presumed to be interested because Iverson's former coach, Larry Brown, has said he's open to coaching Iverson again.
