Bulls vs. 76ers, Nov. 16, 1988

Michael Jordan set a Spectrum scoring record against the Sixers with 52 points (24-for-29 shooting). The Sixers ended up winning the game, because they dominated down low.

It seemed like Michael was always at his best against us. He rarely had a subpar game and when the game was over … win or lose … he was always the pivotal factor.  What he did was electrify the building.  And even though he was doing incredible things on the court, I felt like we were seeing just the tip of the iceberg.  He would do so much more over his career.  He was younger then, but later he won all those championships, which, in my mind, made him the best player ever.

He always dominated the game both physically with his great skills and mentally, too.  That was his greatest gift.
